DIY 
COMIC BOOKS/GRAPHIC NOVELS 

This class is for ages 11-14 interested in making comics, graphics, and cartoons. We'll play collaborative drawing games, learn the traditional rules of how to make comics, and then break all of those rules! This class will be offered multiple times this summer and children can take all classes to work on a long-term project or just a few classes to learn more about the art. All levels of experience and skill are welcome.

MIND OVER MAT(TER) YOGA

Ages 5-9 will connect with their body, feelings, and thoughts through active moments and mindfulness while certified instructor Krista Boyer seamlessly blends music and movement, literacy, and interactive games. All levels of experience and skill are welcome!

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
FOR BEGINNERS

This program series is designed for grades 9-12 and is broken up into 3 sessions throughout the summer and focuses on establishing the basic skills needed to play D&D. Session 1 is 2.5 hours long and has a presentation on the basics of how to play D&D. After, players are given a premade Level 1 character and will participate in mock battles to learn the mechanics of the game firsthand. Sessions 2 & 3 are mini-campaigns that may last up to 2.5-3 hours. Players will go on a small quest, learn their characters better, and level up.

Jump in your TIE Fighter and travel to a galaxy not so far away to meet Boba Fett, a Mandalorian, Princess Leia, Rey, a Stormtrooper, an Imperial Officer and of course... Darth Vader! Not just for the kids...All are welcome to join us for this special Saturday before Father’s Day event! No registration required

WET & DRY ICE SCIENCE 

What is this mysterious stuff that seems to be so cold it feels hot? Kids 6+ will learn and have fun (safely) with dry ice. Messy? You bet! Fun? Of course!!

POLYMER CLAY
FAIRY HOUSE

Ages 9-12 will design, customize, and sculpt a fairy house to take home. This is an art project full of creativity and customization  and there is no restriction on where your imagination can take you!

LEGO CLUB

We supply the LEGOS, you supply the imagination. Open ages 4-99.

FAMILY JAZZ CONCERT

The 45-minute jazz jam will include such classics as “The Saints Go Marching In,” “Tin Roof Blues,” and “That’s a Plenty,” and will feature NHSO Trumpeters Ken Tedeschi and Mike Flynn, Hornist Kyle Hoyt, Trombonist Scott Cranston, and Tubist Alex Friedman. The program includes a Second Line march and an interactive reading of the children’s book Trombone Shorty by performer and artist Issac Bloodworth. Perfect for ages 3-9

READ TO JULIE

All ages are invited to read to Julie, the Ansonia Library’s resident therapy dog! Register for a 10 minute time slot to sit with and read with our four-legged friend, Julie, a purebred listener who is gentle and will cuddle while you read.

SUMMERTIME STORYTIME

Our SummerTime StoryTimes are designed for children 0-5 and include music and movement, singing and fingerplays, and a story. The option to "Stay and Play" with several sensory, art, imaginative play, and fine motor activities is offered.

 THE SCIENCE OF ICE CREAM

Kids 6+ will read about ice cream, make ice cream, and then eat ICE CREAM!

Glow in the Dark Painting Party

 Grades 9-12 are invited to create one of a kind glow in the dark artwork to take home, with the help of black lights and neon paints! All levels of experience and skill are welcome. Festival

POTIONS PARTY SCIENCE PROGRAM

Kids 6+ will learn, have fun, and safely experiment with chemistry! Bubbling, color-changing pots of goo! This class is your chance to mix up some amazing (but NOT edible) potions. Learn some chemistry and physics of kitchen ingredients. Will it smell? Probably. Fun?? Of course!!

PreK Prep StoryTime

Children entering PreK for the first time are invited to this Pre-K Prep Storytime to talk about the ins and outs of all things Pre-K with School Readiness Director, Diana Brancato after storytime. Diana will answer your questions to help ease the transition into the first day of preschool.

Creative Building That Engineers Fun

Ages 6-12 will enjoy this high energy creative building event that encourages imaginative play and collaboration, with the use of LEGOS and other engineering materials supplied by Buildwave. This program is great for kids who love to build and play with LEGOS!

The Poop Museum Poop 

The Poop Museum Poop experts from The Poop Museum, who thinks poop is THE most interesting subject in the world and have studied it for years are coming to teach us the many fantastic, fabulous and fun facts about POOP! What animal has poop attack powers? Which one uses poop as protection? Who is the rainbow pooper? Let’s find out at this all ages family program being held at the Ansonia Armory.

Alpaca StoryTime

Join us for this all ages NightTime StoryTime family program! Let’s read about alpacas and learn how they are different from llamas. Then, we will have the chance to meet an alpaca named Awinita!

2nd Annual StoryTime on a Bus

This program is designed for children 2.5-5 years who might be riding the bus for the first time this school year and are nervous or who love the idea of riding a school bus. We will meet a school bus driver, read a bus themed story, and then take a ride around the block! Children can bring along a toy vehicle (buses welcome!) to wash at the car wash station.
